NEW HOSTING UPGRADES & CHARGES
Historically I have not charged for hosting websites and email systems. These systems are expensive and require a lot of maintenance in order to ensure your websites and emails are reliable 24/7/365. Following a recent and significant upgrade, I have had to make the decision to reluctantly start charging for hosting starting in January. After this year and some recent major upgrades to the hosting, I have to make this move. You can opt-out of the charges but will have until 28th February 2021 to source your own hosting and migrate your services elsewhere. Please note, it was not my first move to start charging but with my cost increasing to over £3,500 a year for them after the most difficult year ever I have no option. For my own business and health sake. While I don’t think anyone will have an issue with this I will assist in moving to a new provider if you wish.
THE CHARGES:
These will be on a simple scale, based on just two parameters.
- Your hosting package data size (disk space)
- Your bandwidth (site traffic usage)
The starting annual cost for hosting will be just £50. If your hosting exceeds 1GB in size and/or your bandwidth exceeds an average of 3GB a month the annual charge will be £100. I feel these parameters make it fair for everyone and are very easy scales to monitor. I will start invoicing ahead of January with payment terms of 28 days. Should you wish to look elsewhere, firstly you’ll notice this is very cheap, but please let me know if you wish to move elsewhere and I will cancel the invoice and share information how to move your site and emails elsewhere.
